Are We There Yet?

Over the Summer Term Foundation Stage will be learning all about Transport. We have started by looking at cars and buses. The children really enjoy using a variety of materials to create vehicles. Throughout the term we will be designing and creating our own ‘Super vehicles’.  This will end with our ‘Top Gear’ Exhibition where the children can show off what they have made to parents and staff. We hope that you can attend.

On Saturday 21st April, Springfield Primary school, part of the Challenger Multi Academy Trust,  welcomed pupils, staff, governors and parents to a hands-on workshop to develop the outside learning environment for our youngest pupils.  The offer of bacon rolls and fresh coffee proved a popular incentive.

It was wonderful to welcome so many eager and skilled people who were committed to lending a helping hand.  Over the course of the morning we managed to make a bug hotel, paint benches and tyres, create weaving areas and so much more.  The children had a whale of a time and it’s fair to say that some had more paint on them than the benches!
This really was an example of the local community working together for the benefit of our pupils.
